Davidson Preschool strives to meet each child's individual needs as they learn and grow. We provide a curriculum that is a child-centered learning philosophy. Each child is viewed as a unique person with individual patterns and timing of growth and development. We believe that children learn by doing, therefore we have a hands-on approach to learning. We aid each child’s growth not only in academics, but confidence, problem resolution, and self-sufficiency while providing a safe, loving, and nurturing atmosphere.
Each classroom is led with very small student to teacher ratios.
Our program emphasizes the following:
A safe and nurturing environment which promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of young children
Learning by actively exploring the environment and interacting with materials, other children, and teachers
Use of concrete learning activities and materials that are relevant to the growth of young children
Activities that provide opportunities for problem solving, creating, discovering, comparing and classifying
A play-oriented learning center approach with children working in the following centers: art, dramatic play, blocks, manipulatives, reading, music, writing and science
Regular daily activities to develop fine and large motor skills
Interactions and activities designed to develop children's self-esteem and positive feelings towards learning
Partnership with parents. We are a giant family here
Routine, routine, routine. Each classroom picks a schedule and sticks to that schedule in order for each student to learn school expectations and what to do on a daily basis. This aspect helps minimize behavior issues and maximize learning opportunities.
Each week there is a different topic of focus that is themed-based including science, art, music, math and, manipulatives. Reading, writing, counting, shapes and, colors are worked on daily.

(8:30 AM Drop-Off)
